This is a new born red Brahman calf. It’s mother wasn’t forthcoming with the milk, so she had to be persuaded to feed her calf. As with most mammals, the first milk produced by the cow is very important to the new born. It includes all kinds of immune boosting agents as well as lots of fats to kick start the calf’s digestive system. It’s quite rare to be able to get this close to a new born because the mothers are so protective. Though the biggest treat is touching a new born calf. The fur is softer than anything, especially the tiny bit of fur between the front legs.
The calf might be soft on the outside but I’m the biggest softy on the inside…
